Prepare a cozy pear dessert with minimal effort by using a slow cooker.
Ingredients:
  • 500.00 ml apple, cranberry and raspberry juice
  • 4 medium packham pears, peeled
  • 1 vanilla bean, split
  • 150g frozen raspberries
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, simmer the sugar and juice together, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes, until the sugar completely dissolves.
  • In the bowl of a 5-liter slow-cooker, place the pears and pour in the syrup. Add the vanilla bean, cover, and set the slow-cooker to high. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the pears are almost tender, turning them halfway through cooking.
  • Gently fold in the raspberries and simmer for 15 minutes or until the pears are soft. Present the poached pears with a luscious syrup, fresh raspberries, and a dollop of cream for a delightful dessert.
