Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 boneless pork shoulder roast (2 1/2 to 3 lb)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions:
  • Combine paprika, salt, garlic powder, and brown sugar in a small bowl, stirring until well mixed.
  • Prepare the slow cooker by spraying it with cooking spray. Massage the pork with the paprika mixture until fully coated. Transfer the pork to the slow cooker and pour water around it.
  • Cook on Low heat for 7 to 8 hours, or on High heat for 3 to 4 hours, until fork-tender.
  • Place the pork on a cutting board to cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, shred the pork using two forks.
  • Drain liquid from the slow cooker, wipe it clean, and give it a quick spray with cooking oil. Add back the shredded pork, mix in the barbecue sauce thoroughly, cover, and heat on High for 10 to 15 minutes until piping hot. Enjoy!
