Tender slow-cooked pork with apple butter sauce - an exquisite dinner choice.
Ingredients:
  • 3 lb boneless pork country-style ribs
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
Instructions:
  • Season the ribs generously with salt and pepper. Transfer the seasoned ribs to a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, covering them with onion slices. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients, then pour them over the ribs and onions.
  • Cover and simmer on Low heat for 8 to 10 hours.
  • Transfer the ribs from the cooker to a serving platter and cover to keep warm.
  • Strain juices from cooker into a 1-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Drizzle over ribs when serving.
