Creamy smoked Gouda mac and cheese with a sharp twist - a gourmet take on a classic comfort dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package shell pasta
  • 2.5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 4 ounces smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly grease a casserole dish.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of salted water until it's bubbling. Add shell pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 9 minutes until it's tender yet delightfully firm to the bite.
  • As the pasta cooks, gently melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour until it turns golden and forms a paste, about 2 to 4 minutes. Slowly pour in milk, along with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Keep whisking until the sauce is velvety and can lightly coat the back of a spoon, about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • After cooking the pasta, toss it into a spacious bowl. Coat it generously with the creamy cheese sauce until well blended. Then, neatly transfer the mixture into the awaiting casserole dish.
  • Simply bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until heated through.
