Quick and flavorful stovetop green beans with bacon and onions make the perfect holiday side dish, with fresh green beans, garlic, and onion.
Ingredients:
  • 6 thick slices bacon, chopped
  • 0.5 cup onions, minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 cup water, or as needed
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • In a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until fat begins to render. Add onion and garlic, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
  • Combine beans and water in the pot, stirring them together until the water evaporates and the beans become tender. Add additional water as required until the beans reach desired tenderness. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
