Southern style ground beef steaks cooked in rich mushroom gravy for a comforting and delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon beef base
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 slices white bread
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can water
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine eggs, onion, beef base, and pepper, whisking until well blended. Tear the bread into chunks and soak briefly in the mixture. Add the ground beef and mix everything together until evenly combined. Shape the mixture into 8 patties.
  • In a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat, carefully sear the patties until golden brown and cooked through, about 8 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Discard extra grease from the skillet. Combine mushroom soup, water, and Worcestershire sauce in the skillet, whisk until smooth. Return patties to the skillet, cover with the sauce, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes until sauce thickens and flavors meld.
