Smothered Pork Chops

Easily create a delicious dinner with Progresso® soup!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 bone-in pork loin chops, 3/4-inch thick (about 2 lb)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 can (18.5 oz) Progresso™ Vegetable Classics French onion soup
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions:
  • Cook rice according to package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until sizzling. Sear garlic and pork chops for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until beautifully browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine the soup and cornstarch in a small bowl. Pour this mixture over the pork chops and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium, cover, and cook for 8 to 12 minutes until the pork is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
