"Try this award-winning chocolate peanut butter Chex® bar, a delicious twist on classic Muddy Buddies®!"
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 package (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
  • 2 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 6 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
  • 1/2 to 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, combine cookie mix, 1/2 cup of butter, and an egg until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden brown. Allow it to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips and the remaining 1/2 cup of butter on High for about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir after 1 minute until melted and smooth. Add peanut butter and mix until well blended.
  • Put the cereal in a 1-gallon resealable plastic bag and break it into small pieces. Mix the cereal into the chocolate until coated. Spread the cereal mixture over the cookie crust, press gently, and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Chill for about 1 hour until set. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows for bars and store covered at room temperature.
