Buttery snowflake spritz cookies with egg yolk, perfect for gifting. Freeze for easy prep.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you combine flour, salt, and cinnamon by sifting them together; set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine butter and cream cheese until creamy. Mix in sugar and egg yolk until fluffy. Add vanilla and orange zest, then gradually mix in dry ingredients. Transfer dough to a Spritz snowflake cookie press or pastry bag, and shape cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown on the peaks and bottoms. Transfer to wire racks to cool immediately after removing from the cookie sheets.
