Festive snowman cupcakes, whimsical Christmas dessert for kids.
Ingredients:
  • 24 unfrosted vanilla cupcakes, divided
  • 1 (16 ounce) package vanilla frosting, divided
  • 4 black licorice laces
  • 6 red licorice laces
  • 1 ounce ready-to-use white fondant
  • 1 drop orange food coloring
  • 48 candy-coated milk chocolate pieces (such as M&M's®)
Instructions:
  • Remove the dry tops from 12 cupcakes, then crumble the soft cake insides into a bowl. Mix in 5 ounces of vanilla icing until well combined. Add more frosting if necessary to form a ball that is easy to shape. Cover the bowl and chill the cake mixture in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  • Spread a thin layer of white vanilla frosting over the remaining 12 cupcakes.
  • Take the cake mixture and shape into 12 bigger balls and 12 smaller balls with wet hands. Stack a small ball on top of a big ball to create snowmen, using frosting if needed for adherence. Place the snowmen on frosted cupcakes.
  • Cut black licorice laces into small squares with scissors and use the tip of a knife to attach them to the head for the eyes and mouth.
  • Combine white fondant with a touch of orange food coloring until it becomes a vibrant orange shade. Shape the orange fondant into small carrot noses and gently press them onto the snowman faces.
  • Adorn the torso and cupcake with 2 dark candy-coated milk chocolate pieces each to create buttons. Attach 2 more candy-coated milk chocolate pieces on each side of the head, joining them with a black licorice piece for the earmuffs.
  • Cut red licorice laces into elegant 2 1/2-inch pieces and gently wrap them around the snowman's neck like a cozy scarf.
