Indulge in a delightful twist on the classic chocolate brownie with an irresistible apple brownie.
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium apples - peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 sticks butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it and dusting with flour.
  • Place the apples in a bowl and drizzle with vinegar. Allow them to marinate.
  • In a large bowl, combine white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until pale brown. Stir in melted butter until smooth. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until the brownie batter is well combined.
  • Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour over the apples in the bowl and toss gently to coat them. Fold the floured apples and chocolate chips into the brownie batter until evenly combined; the batter will be thick. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top loses its shine and a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Be careful not to overbake.
