Irresistible soft gingersnaps with rich molasses and warm spices - a guaranteed hit!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup shortening
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves until well mixed. Stir in the remaining 1 1/4 cup flour. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, coat them in white sugar, and arrange them 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake in a cozy, preheated oven until cookies are firm and tops have a beautiful cracked appearance, typically around 8 to 10 minutes.
