Total Time:
Year-round easy cut-out cookies, perfect for kids to make. A childhood favorite recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfectly baked dish.
  • Combine butter and sugar in a bowl, then mix in egg and sour cream. Add baking soda and salt. Slowly incorporate flour until dough is too stiff to stir. Transfer dough to floured surface, knead in more flour until no longer sticky.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Use cookie cutters to create your favorite shapes. Space the cookies 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes until lightly browned at the edges, then cool on wire racks after removing from the baking sheets.
