Soft and moist Christmas cookies made with sour cream and cake flour.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 6.5 cups cake flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • - In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, then blend in the sour cream and vanilla. Combine baking soda, baking powder, and salt; gradually add flour to create a stiff dough suitable for rolling out. Adjust flour amount as needed.
  • On a gently floured surface, roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Then, arrange the cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until firm with a dry center. Avoid overbaking as cookies will remain white.
