Deliciously simple lemon-nutmeg drop cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 2.75 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts, or to taste
  • 0.25 cup raisins, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and generously grease the baking sheets.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl and sift together.
  • In a bowl, use an electric mixer to blend together 1 1/2 cups sugar and butter until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by sour cream and lemon extract. Slowly mix in the flour mixture until a smooth dough forms.
  • Spoon out dough in rounded tablespoons onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 3 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 4 minutes until golden brown around the edges. Sprinkle cookies with 1 tablespoon sugar, walnuts, and raisins. Bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until bottoms begin to brown. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
