Decadent South African milk tart with graham cracker crust for a creamy, lightly sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (4.8 ounce) package graham crackers, crushed, or as needed
  • 0.5 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.25 cup white sugar, or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cake flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl, then firmly press into a pie dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs and white sugar until fluffy; stir in cornstarch and cake flour.
  • In a saucepan, gently warm milk and cinnamon stick until almost boiling, about 5 to 10 minutes. Slowly mix milk into eggs, whisking continuously. Return mixture to saucepan.
  • Whisk milk-egg mixture on medium heat until thickened, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until fully mixed in.
  • Pour the creamy milk mixture into the delicious crust and generously sprinkle with fragrant cinnamon sugar.
