Classic pecan pie: Sweet filling with sugar, corn syrup, and pecans mixed in one bowl, then baked until golden and puffed in a crust.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1.5 cups pecan halves
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C).
  • In a medium bowl, gently beat the eggs. Add the sugar, syrup, butter or margarine, vanilla, salt, and pecans. Mix well and pour the filling into the unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at the initial temperature for 15 minutes. Lower the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake for an additional 35 to 40 minutes until the pie is golden brown and slightly puffed.
