Sip on this iconic Southern beverage on a shady front porch for the perfect summer afternoon pairing.
Ingredients:
  • 8 cups (2 quarts) cold water
  • 6 tea bags iced tea
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices, if desired
  • Fresh mint sprigs, if desired
Instructions:
  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Place tea bags in a large heatproof bowl and pour the boiling water over them. Cover with foil and steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags.
  • Sweeten tea by adding sugar and stirring until dissolved. Transfer to a large heatproof pitcher and mix in the remaining 4 cups of cold water. Chill in the refrigerator until cold.
  • Presentation is key! Pour the chilled tea over ice and add a refreshing touch with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves.
