Maximize freezer space and save time with this clever tip: store flat smoothie packs in Ziploc bags for easy stacking and quick morning prep.
Ingredients:
  • 3 mangoes, coarsely chopped
  • 3 bananas, thickly sliced
  • 2 oranges
  • 520g (2 cups) natural yoghurt
  • 8.80 gm vanilla extract
  • Coconut water or milk of choice, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine the mango, banana, orange, yoghurt, and vanilla in a blender and blend until creamy.
  • Label and date a medium Ziploc freezer bag, then place it upright in a bowl. Pour 500ml (2 cups) of smoothie mixture into the bag. Gently set the bag on a clean surface, ensuring the open end is slightly higher to prevent any spills.
  • Evenly distribute the smoothie mix in the bag to remove air pockets, then seal. Repeat for 2 more bags.
  • Lay the smoothie bags flat in the freezer until slightly firm, about 20 minutes. Then, use a chopstick to create an indentation in the center to divide the mixture into 2 portions. Freeze until solid.
  • To create a perfectly portioned smoothie, split the mixture in half at the marked line. Pour one half into the blender and seal the rest back in the freezer for later. Add 125ml (1/2 cup) of coconut water or your preferred milk to the blender, then blend until smooth. Serve right away and enjoy your refreshing treat.
