Impressive and easy torte perfect for entertaining. Add sliced ripe olives to spaghetti. Serve with green beans and warm crusty bread.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package (16 ounces) spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 2 medium tomatoes, each cut into 5 slices
  • 4 slices (1 ounce each) provolone cheese, cut in half
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x3 inch springform pan with cooking spray. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Rinse with cold water and drain.
  • Mix spaghetti with a velvety blend of Parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, and eggs until the spaghetti is thoroughly coated.
  • Begin by layering half of the spaghetti mixture on the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with half of the basil, then layer with half of the tomato and cheese slices. Add the remaining spaghetti mixture, followed by the remaining basil, tomato, and cheese slices.
  • Bake without a cover for 30 minutes until golden and hot. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before removing the pan's side and slicing the torte into wedges.
