Taste the family-friendly goodness of garlicky tuna pasta.
Ingredients:
  • 1-36.40 gm olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  • 60.00 ml finely chopped parsley
  • 2 x 400g cans diced Italian tomatoes
  • 425g can Italian-style tuna in oil
  • 500g spaghetti
Instructions:
  • In a pan over medium heat, warm the oil, then sauté the garlic until lightly browned, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Gently sprinkle in the parsley, watching out as it may dance in the pan if it's too hot. Stir for 1 minute, then introduce the tomatoes and their juices.
  • Lower the heat and let it simmer gently, giving it an occasional stir, until the mixture thickens to a saucy consistency, for 5-10 minutes.
  • After separating the tuna from the oil (be mindful not to pour it down the sink), add the tuna to the pan, breaking it up and incorporating it into the sauce. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and transfer to a warm serving bowl.
  • Incorporate the sauce, add a dash of black pepper, and enjoy right away.
