Winter spiced plum crumble with orange, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a cozy and flavorful dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds plums, pitted and halved
  • 0.5 cup white sugar, divided
  • 1 small orange, zested and juiced
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1.75 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 7 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into chunks
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • - Arrange plums in a baking dish then sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar, orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir gently to combine.
  • Place in the hot oven and bake for 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend flour and salt together. Add chilled butter and use your fingertips to mix until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Finally, incorporate the remaining sugar.
  • Take out the plums from the oven, evenly sprinkle the topping over them, and bake until golden brown, for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot.
