Spiced Thai Iced Tea

Refreshing Thai iced tea infused with aromatic spices and sweetened condensed milk.
Ingredients:
  • 5 cups water
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 5 pods star anise
  • 4 pods cardamom, crushed
  • 8 red rooibos tea bags
  • 0.75 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ice
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, star anise, cinnamon stick, and cardamom. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Add tea bags and allow the tea to steep and cool to room temperature for about 1 hour.
  • After removing the tea bags and straining out the whole spices, whisk in the condensed milk. Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Place ice in 4 glasses and pour tea over the ice.
