Gather loved ones with zesty hoisin meatballs bursting with flavor!
Ingredients:
  • 500g chicken mince
  • 250.00 ml fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 small brown onion, grated
  • 1/4 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 135.00 gm hoisin sauce
  • 36.40 gm peanut oil
  • 2cm piece fresh ginger, finely grated
  • Hokkien noodles, to serve
  • Thinly sliced green onion, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix together the mince, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, chilli, half of the garlic, and half of the hoisin sauce. Season with salt and pepper, then blend well. Roll the mixture into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on a plate.
  • In a large frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook meatballs for 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and fully cooked. Use a slotted spoon to transfer meatballs to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  • Add the ginger and remaining garlic to the pan. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in 1/2 cup of cold water and the rest of the hoisin sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to medium and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens. Reintroduce the meatballs to the pan, stirring to evenly coat them. Serve alongside noodles and onion.
