Create a fun and easy spooky spider cake by involving kids in drizzling chocolate to make a creepy spider web design.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Vanilla Frosting
  • 10 oz vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark)
  • 5 Oreo chocolate creme sandwich cookies
  • 2 licorice wheels, unrolled and split in half
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and coat a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Optionally, line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal.
  • Prepare and bake the cake according to the box instructions in a 13x9-inch pan. Allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack. Let it cool entirely for about 1 hour.
  • Cover the entire cake with frosting. Follow the package instructions to melt the almond bark. Drizzle the melted almond bark over the cake in a spider web pattern by quickly moving a spoon back and forth across the cake as you drizzle.
  • 1. Split the chocolate sandwich cookies in half. Use the 5 halves without creme filling to form spider bodies on the cake. 2. Pull apart the licorice wheels to make ropes. Cut 8 small pieces of licorice for each spider to create legs, then arrange 8 legs around each cookie.
