Make festive spiderweb cake pops with Betty Crocker Super Moist white cake mix and fluffy white frosting for a spooky Halloween treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 4 cups white candy melts
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 54 paper lollipop sticks
  • Block of plastic foam
  • 1/2 cup black candy melts, melted
  • 54 black candy-coated chocolate candies
Instructions:
  • Prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the box for a 13x9-inch pan using water, oil, and egg whites. Let the cake cool. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Crumble the cake into a large bowl and mix in the frosting until well combined. Shape the mixture into 1 1/4-inch balls and place them on the cookie sheet. Freeze until firm, then store in the refrigerator.
  • Place white candy melts and shortening in a microwavable bowl and microwave uncovered on Medium (50%) for 1 minute. Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals until completely melted; stir until smooth. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick about 1/2 inch into the melted candy and insert it into a cake ball, making sure not to go more than halfway. Repeat this process for all cake balls. Return them to the cookie sheet and refrigerate for 5 minutes. Take a few cake balls out of the fridge at a time. Dip each cake ball into the melted white candy, tapping off the excess. Stick the opposite end of the stick into a foam block and let the cake balls set until firm.
  • Drizzle the melted black candy into a resealable plastic bag, seal it, cut off a small corner, and pipe spiderwebs onto each cake pop. Quickly place one chocolate candy on each web to create a spider look.
