Indulge in a spooky Spiderweb Cake using Betty Crocker™ dark chocolate cake mix and frosting, ideal for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Dark Chocolate Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 3 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 tube (0.68 oz) Betty Crocker™ black decorating gel
  • Gummy spider candies
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 24 muffin cups with paper baking cups. Prepare cake mix as instructed on the box to make cupcakes using water, oil, and eggs. Bake as directed, then let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to cooling racks. Allow cupcakes to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Attach a #10 decorating tip to a piping bag and fill it with 2 containers of frosting. Place the cupcakes closely together on a platter in a spiderweb pattern. Pipe frosting generously over the cupcakes using the smooth side of the tip. Spread the frosting smoothly over the cupcakes with a spatula. Attach a #862 star tip to the piping bag and fill it with the remaining container of frosting. Pipe frosting generously around the edge of the spiderweb shape.
  • Pipe concentric circles on the cake using a black gel, starting from the center and moving towards the edge. Use a toothpick to pull through the lines of gel 14 to 16 times to create a spiderweb design. Finish by topping with spider candies.
