Spooky and decadent chocolate cupcakes, ideal for Halloween festivities.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 3 drops red food color
  • 4 to 5 drops yellow food color
  • 1 tube (0.68 oz) Betty Crocker™ black decorating gel
  • 48 large black gumdrops
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Prepare and cool cupcakes per box instructions to yield 24 cupcakes.
  • Mix red and yellow food colors into the frosting until a beautiful shade of orange is achieved. Generously spread the colorful frosting over the tops of each cupcake.
  • Decoratively squeeze circles of decorating gel onto each cupcake and use a knife to create a web design by gently pulling the gel from the center outward. For each spider, flatten out 1 gumdrop and cut 8 strips for legs. Place another gumdrop on top and position the spider onto the cupcake. Store the cupcakes loosely covered.
