Impress guests with festive Christmas cookies made with Betty Crocker™ mix and white icing.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 bag (6.25 oz) Hawaiian fruits fruit-flavored ring-shaped hard candies
  • 1 tube (4.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ white decorating icing
  • Edible glitter or sanding sugar, if desired
Instructions:
  • Combine the cookie mix, flour, butter, egg, and vanilla in a bowl until a soft dough forms. Shape the dough into a ball and refrigerate for 1 hour. Unwrap 16 hard candies, crush them, and separate the colors. Save the rest of the candies for later.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Divide the dough in half and roll out one portion on a floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Use a 3 1/2-inch snowflake cookie cutter to create shapes and place them on the prepared cookie sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Fill each cutout hole with 1/4 teaspoon of crushed candies. Use a straw to make a hole near the edge of one point for attaching a ribbon later.
  • Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until the candy is melted and cookies are firm. Let them cool for about 4 minutes until the candies harden. Transfer to a cooling rack and let them cool completely.
  • Decorate snowflake cookies using an icing tube with a small round tip to create straight lines and dots. Sprinkle immediately with edible glitter and allow to set until icing is firm.
