Decadent steakhouse bread recipe with dense, flavorful rolls. Brush with egg and sprinkle oatmeal before baking for a gourmet touch. Delight in every bite!
Ingredients:
  • 1.3333333730698 cups strong brewed coffee, room temperature
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup dark molasses
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 2.5 teaspoons active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
Instructions:
  • Combine ingredients in bread machine following manufacturer's instructions. Choose Dough cycle and transfer dough after final rise.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the dough into 12 dinner rolls or one 9x5 inch loaf. Allow it to rise rapidly while the oven heats up.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes for rolls or 35 minutes for a loaf, or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
