Stewed strawberries and rhubarb topped with fresh cream make a delightful summer treat.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups peeled and chopped rhubarb
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup half-and-half, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, toss together rhubarb, strawberries, and sugar until the fruit is evenly coated with sugar. Allow to sit for 15 minutes.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine fruit and sugar mixture. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a pinch of salt. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Serve the stewed fruit in bowls and top each serving with a generous drizzle of creamy half-and-half.
