Cozy up with comforting Golden Syrup Dumplings on chilly nights.
Ingredients:
  • 199.50 gm self-raising flour
  • 40g butter, chilled, chopped
  • 45.00 gm brown sugar
  • 53.60 gm golden syrup
  • 84.98 gm milk
  • Thickened cream, to serve
  • 50g butter, chopped
  • 135.00 gm brown sugar
  • 110.55 gm golden syrup
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 180C (160C fan-forced).
  • Sift flour into a bowl. Blend in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Mix in sugar. Combine golden syrup and milk. Add to flour mixture. Use a wooden spoon to form a soft dough. Roll heaped tablespoons of dough into 12 balls.
  • Create Syrup: Combine butter, sugar, golden syrup, and 1 1/2 cups cold water in a large flameproof casserole dish. Heat on low, stirring for 5 minutes until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to medium and bring to a boil. Gently place dumplings into the syrup, cover, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until puffed and cooked. Serve with cream.
