Tasty pork noodle recipe for any occasion by Georgina Hayden.
Ingredients:
  • 350 g higher-welfare pork tenderloin
  • 300 g broccoli
  • 410 g fresh free-range egg noodles or 240g dried noodles
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 cm piece of ginger
  • 1 tablespoon groundnut oil
  • 200 g beansprouts
  • 1 fresh red chilli optional
  • 4 tablespoons low-salt soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1½ tablespoons runny honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 dash of sesame oil
Instructions:
  • Combine the marinade ingredients in a shallow dish. Cut the pork into 4-5cm strips and add to the marinade, then set aside. Cut the broccoli into florets and briefly cook in boiling salted water for 2 minutes. Cook the noodles according to package instructions, drain and reserve a little cooking water. Prepare garlic and ginger, then fry in groundnut oil in a large pan until golden. Add pork and cook until browned, then pour in the marinade. Cook until pork is sticky and cooked through. Add noodles, broccoli, reserved water, and beansprouts. Toss until sticky, then add chilli if desired and serve immediately.
