Whip up a quick and delicious strawberry sherbet at home with just a handful of ingredients.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries or 1 bag (16 oz) frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Fresh mint sprigs, if desired
  • Sliced fresh strawberries, if desired
Instructions:
  • Place fresh strawberries into a powerful blender or food processor. Blend on high speed for about 30 seconds until you achieve a smooth consistency, pausing to scrape down the sides as needed. Pour the vibrant puree through a fine-mesh strainer into a large bowl, gently pressing with the back of a spoon to extract all the liquid, leaving behind any solids.
  • Combine buttermilk, sugar, and vanilla with the strawberry puree, mixing until fully incorporated. Cover the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Transfer the mixture into a 1 1/2-quart ice-cream freezer and follow the manufacturer's instructions for freezing. Serve each portion garnished with fresh mint leaves and sliced strawberries.
