Sugar and Spice Apple Cake

Whip up this quick and easy cake in just 15 minutes prep time before popping it into the oven for a delicious treat!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 medium unpeeled red apple, thinly sliced (about 1 cup)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a 9-inch square pan. In a medium bowl, combine Bisquick mix, 2 tablespoons sugar, milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and egg until smooth. Spread batter evenly in the pan.
  • Lay out apple slices in 3 neat rows, slightly overlapping them, on top of the batter. Drizzle 1/4 cup of melted butter over the apple slices.
  • Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the apples.
  • Bake until edges turn golden brown, about 16 to 18 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Cut into squares using a serrated knife.
