Spiced sugar cookies with warm holiday flavors that will fill your kitchen with festive fragrance.
Ingredients:
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 0.5 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a bowl and mix well.
  • Blend butter and brown sugar until smooth using an electric mixer, then mix in egg and vanilla extract. Gradually add flour to the mixture while beating, then shape the dough into a ball, wrap with plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour or up to 3 days.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare your baking sheets by greasing them.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it's 1/8-inch thick using a rolling pin. Use 2-inch cookie cutters to cut out the cookies and place them on the baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly browned. Then, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a minute before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
