Family-favorite fried chicken with flavorful herbs and spices for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds bone-in chicken pieces, such as breasts, thighs, and drumsticks
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, or more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Place the chicken broth into a large mixing bowl.
  • Clean the chicken pieces thoroughly and dry them. Submerge the chicken in the broth while you mix the flour.
  • Combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, lemon-pepper seasoning, salt, basil, oregano, and cayenne pepper in a large dish, ensuring they are thoroughly mixed.
  • In a deep saucepan, heat 2 inches of oil over medium heat until hot.
  • Individually coat each piece of chicken in the flour mixture before gently placing a few pieces in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 10 minutes per side, until juices run clear. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate and continue with the rest of the chicken.
