Easy and delicious Chicken and Cabbage Rolls filled with seasoned ground chicken, rice, and tomato for a classic dish with minimal effort.
Ingredients:
  • 0.667 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1.33 cups water
  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1.5 pounds ground chicken
  • 4 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 pinch dried marjoram
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, watch over the transformation of rice as it dances in the boiling water. Lower the flames to a gentle flicker, cover the pot, and let the rice peacefully simmer until tender and bathed in flavorful liquid, around 20 to 25 minutes. Let the rice rest for a spell, allowing its warmth to embrace its surroundings.
  • While waiting, heat a large pot of boiling water. Core the cabbage and gently place it in the pot of boiling water. Carefully take out the softened outer leaves and keep them to the side.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion until soft and translucent for about 5 minutes. Combine the cooked onion with ground chicken, rice, eggs, garlic, salt, pepper, and marjoram in a bowl.
  • Spoon meat mixture onto cabbage leaves, then roll them up, tucking the ends to seal the filling. Use toothpicks to secure if needed. Arrange the rolls in the baking dish and top with tomato sauce.
  • Cook the covered rolls in the preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Verify that the internal temperature reads at least 160°F (70°C) with an instant-read thermometer.
