Super Easy Seared Ahi Tuna

"Elevate ahi tuna with zesty Italian breadcrumbs, sear for a gourmet dish."
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound sashimi grade yellowfin tuna
  • kosher salt to taste
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
  • Cut the tuna into 4 pieces for appetizers or 2 large pieces for dinner, keeping in mind the shape should resemble a miniature brick. Use your judgment based on the tuna size and shape.
  • Season tuna pieces generously with salt and pepper. Crust all sides with bread crumbs. Heat olive oil in a big skillet over high heat until very hot. Cook tuna in the skillet, searing each side for 45 seconds for small pieces and 1 minute for large pieces, until rare. Remove from heat.
  • Slice each piece into elegant 1/4-inch thick slices and artfully arrange on a serving plate. Serve plain or with your favorite condiments.
