Sweet and Nutty Cereal Munch

Irresistible nut and cereal mix that pleases all ages. Make extra - it's a crowd favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups Frosted Cheerios™ or Cheerios™ cereal
  • 1 cup pecan halves, walnut halves or peanuts
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch jelly roll pan with 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
  • Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, 1/4 cup butter, and salt in a 3-quart saucepan. Heat over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly until the brown sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and mix in cereal, pecans, and almonds until well coated. Spread mixture in a pan.
  • Bake for 15 minutes without covering. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Gently loosen with a metal spatula. Let it sit for approximately 1 hour or until set. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
