Delightful blend of sweet and nutty flavors in bite-sized treats.
Ingredients:
  • Melted butter, to grease
  • 105g (3/4 cup) pecan halves
  • 6 egg whites, lightly whisked
  • 185g unsalted butter, melted
  • 230g (1 1/2 cups) icing sugar mixture
  • 75g (1/2 cup) plain flour
  • 54.00 gm maple syrup
  • 10 pecan halves, extra
  • 27.00 gm maple syrup, extra, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Brush ten 125ml (1/2 cup) oval friand pans with a touch of melted butter to lightly grease them.
  • In a food processor, finely chop pecans. Transfer to a large bowl and add egg whites, unsalted butter, icing sugar mixture, flour, and maple syrup. Mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared pans and garnish each with a pecan half. Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it rest for 5 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool. (For freezing instructions, refer below.)
  • Drizzle with a touch more maple syrup before serving.
