Indulge in a decadent sweet and nutty braid topped with a delightful vanilla sugar glaze - ready in just an hour!
Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped dates
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/3 cup apricot preserves
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and coat a large cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Combine 2/3 cup pecans, dates, raisins, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Lay out puff pastry on a greased baking sheet and gently roll it into a 14x10-inch rectangle. Spread a 4-inch-wide strip of preserves down the center of the pastry, then sprinkle the fruit and nut mixture over the preserves.
  • Using scissors or a sharp knife, create 1-inch apart cuts along the long sides of the pastry, stopping within half an inch of the filling. Fold the strips at an angle over the filling, overlapping the ends and alternating from side to side.
  • Bake at 375°F until golden brown, then transfer to a serving platter and cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  • Combine powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk in a small bowl until you achieve the desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle over the cooled braid and top with 1/4 cup of pecans.
