Sweet Cipollini onions caramelized in tangy Balsamic glaze for a tasty side or appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds cipollini onions, peeled
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add onions and simmer for 20 minutes until tender. Drain and pat dry.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add onions, stir until coated with butter. Season with salt. Cook until brown and caramelized, about 5 minutes. Pour in vinegar, sprinkle with sugar. Continue cooking until vinegar boils. Boil until vinegar thickens and glazes onions, about 5 minutes. Serve hot or cooled with vinegar syrup drizzled on top.
