Tangy green bean side with savory bacon and onions, perfect with ham or pork.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans green beans, drained, juices reserved
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, crisp up the bacon until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Add in the onion and cook until translucent. Sprinkle in the flour and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • In a pan, combine the vinegar, 3/4 cup of reserved green bean liquid, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer before adding the green beans. Cook gently until beans are heated through.
