Sweet and sour meatballs with chili sauce and red currant jam, easily customizable with peach jam, grape jelly, or mango chutney.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup soft, fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.66666668653488 cup Heinz® Chili Sauce
  • 0.66666668653488 cup red currant jelly
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper, shaping into around 40 bite-sized meatballs.
  • Arrange the meatballs on a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil and bake in the preheated oven until cooked through, about 20 minutes.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together chili sauce and jelly until the jelly dissolves, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes.
  • Gently introduce the savory meatballs into the luscious sauce, then lower the heat to a gentle simmer for 10 minutes.
