Delicious vegetarian Chinese dish using chicken-style seitan, high protein, low fat, and tastes just like the real thing.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1 pound chicken style seitan
  • 1 large bell pepper, cut in strips
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks with juice
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 0.33333334326744 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup cider vinegar
  • 2.5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm up the oil. Brown the chicken-style seitan, stirring occasionally. Add the bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Cook until tender yet still crisp.
  • Combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and cornstarch in the pan. Simmer on low heat, stirring until the mixture thickens. Add the pineapple chunks right before serving.
