Tangy tamarind sauce with peanuts, onion, and cilantro, perfect for tofu and egg rolls.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2.5 tablespoons tamarind powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts
  • 0.25 cup sliced red onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
  • Gently warm water in a saucepan. Stir in sugar and tamarind powder until dissolved, then add soy sauce, peanuts, and red onions. Increase heat and cook until onions are just translucent, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add fresh cilantro to the sauce and simmer until it reaches your desired thickness, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
