Spicy-sweet almonds - the perfect snack and thoughtful foodie present.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups whole almonds
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) and lightly grease a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk egg white and vanilla until frothy. Add almonds and mix to coat. Drain almonds in a mesh strainer for 5 to 10 minutes. Return almonds to the bowl.
  • Combine white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, and salt in a bowl. Sprinkle over almonds and toss to coat. Spread coated nuts onto prepared jelly roll pan.
  • Bake for about 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes, until the almonds are perfectly seasoned. Let them cool completely before storing in an air-tight container.
