Elevate classic Southern cornbread with a delicious twist - add bacon for an irresistible upgrade!
Ingredients:
  • 1 Reynolds® Bakeware Bacon Pan
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 5 tablespoons maple syrup, divided, plus additional for serving (optional)
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 1 Reynolds® Bakeware Pan
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F, then elegantly lay out the bacon in a Reynolds® Bakeware Bacon Pan.
  • Bake for 8 minutes until nearly crisp. Drizzle the bacon with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and bake for an additional 4 to 6 minutes until glazed. For extra crispiness, bake longer. Allow to cool, then chop.
  • Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, butter, and 4 tablespoons maple syrup. Pour the milk mixture into the cornmeal mixture and stir in the chopped bacon until just combined. Transfer the batter to an 8x8-inch Reynolds® Bakeware Pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges turn golden brown. Allow it to cool a bit before serving.
  • Drizzle with extra maple syrup, if you'd like.
