Sweet and savory Jewish noodle custard made with apples, golden raisins, and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag egg noodles
  • 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
  • 12 ounces farmer cheese
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 large apple - peeled, cored, and diced
  • 0.25 cup golden raisins, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while generously greasing a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Place a large pot of lightly salted water on high heat and bring to a vigorous boil. Cook egg noodles until al dente, about 7 to 9 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Combine sour cream, cheese, sugar, and butter in a large bowl. Mix in eggs, apple, raisins, and drained cooked noodles. Add cinnamon and stir until mixture is fully blended. Transfer mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Bake until golden brown and custard is set, about 1 hour. Let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
